In what was, I’m sure, the greatest part of my now-retired aunt’s second grade teaching career, she got to collect recipes, or “recipes” as might be more appropriate, from her students. I know I wrote these too. I tried to dictate a recipe for chocolate chip cookies in preschool but it was pretty standard and boring…until I said to bake at 10 degrees for 6 minutes! I didn’t want “cookies” so much as “chocolate chip frozen blobs.” Here are some from second graders in 1999…which means, if you think about it, that THESE KIDS ARE SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD NOW. They’ve become Real People.
I just hope they’ve figured out their oven settings by now.
