Sometimes there are nice things on the way to work, and even in my office. And sometimes I make s’mores.

Okay, so I’m almost a week late to the party. Granted, it was my party, and I’m just late in posting photos, but come on, they’ve been up on my Flickr this whole time!

The party theme was, officially, Real Housewives & Trailer Park Boys, but we had some stragglers. There was a Helvetica supporter, and a Superman in a blond wig. MY wig. Plenty of housewives and trailer park boyz, though, with catchphrases such as the following:

  • Taste everything, eat nothing.
  • Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
  • Smokes, let’s go.
  • Big Papa gave me this ring, and the black Escalade in the driveway, and lots of other stuff.
  • Welcome to Scrilla Villa.
  • I’m the hottest housewife.

We had cheese and jam, skinnygirl margaritas, and a ukulele performance. Plus a bunch of other performances, Will Smith and Panic! at the Disco among them. Some of us might have failed to check ourselves before we wrecked ourselves, but it was all in good fun. REMEMBER: A party is still a party even if it starts at 3 PM. Now…pictures!

Yesterday’s being the first beautiful day of March, I celebrated in three ways:

  1. Sean and I went jogging (I think it’s pronounced “yogging”) in Central Park.
  2. I walked further than necessary from the subway.
  3. Frolicking, jumping, posing, and badass-being on the roof, captured in photographic form!

Friday night marked Jacq’s and my induction into the wide and wonderful world of the New York Ukulele Salon…thing. Organized by the lovely and accommodating Rick, these near-monthly events comprise the closest thing to a secret society my sister and I have seen. Unless there’s something Jacq’s not telling me…

We brought fellow Glastonburian Mike and together we performed as Apples to Apple. From Glastonbury, home of the great, the glorious Apple Fest, to New York…the big one. We sang “Hymn” by Janis Ian and Phoebe Snow, and while it’s not up yet, we’ll be on YouTube soon enough! Which is good, because nobody seems to know that song.

Anyway, check out the band photo below from Rick’s photostream, and the ones that follow it from mine!

I went to Hawaii and imagined dolphinz™, went to the supermarket, brewed 100% kona coffee, found and avoided poop in the ocean while kayaking, tried and failed to tune a novelty uke, trained in the art of lei making, left a lei at hapuna state beach, tanned, burned, ate macadamia-crusted everything, watched a lot of Cash Cab, ended up with 13 pillows in our room, and more!

Then I came back and we had a 10-hour Tea & Tequila party with tea, brandy, scones, limes, coffeecupcakes, macaroons, tequila, tonic, prosecco, lemongrass cello, litchi juice, apple cider, gin, vodka, grenadine, Indian food, Super Smash Bros., secret handshakes (courtesy of A Walk to Remember), piggybacks, squats, first paragraphs of fantasy novels, rings, hair elastics and other things.

Well, T Day has come and gone, but Favorite Store is here for all your holiday weekend photographic needs! That is, as long as they align with the photos I already took.

Yesterday, Jacq, Liz and I braved wind, cold, misbehaving balloons and the quickest-descending sun yet this year to take some pictures on the roof. With balloons, did you catch that? Next time we’ll try helium, and also try getting out the door earlier than twenty minutes before sunset. As always, more on my flickr.

Here are Jacq and Liz. Aren’t they pretty!!

Yes, this is real. And yes, I heard that they’re thinking of using this for the CS5 interface.

Come one, come all, to my brand new Flickr photostream!  710 photos up already; I spent four hours last night poring over three years’ worth of photographic documentation on my computer and my external hard drive, and the end result is…a lot of color, and a lot of silly pictures from the sound stage at Vassar, and a lot of my really ridiculously good-looking friends, and ukuleles and cowboy hats and TV on the Radio concerts and chocolate fondue on fire…and there were horses and a man on fire and I killed a guy with a trident!

Anyway, go and look at my photos!  I’ll be posting more and more as I find them; tell me what you like!  Here are some to get you started:
